Jade Flahive-Gilbert
Jade is a Community Musician and Educator, who graduated from the University of York with a Master's with distinction in Community Music.
After spending some time working in a variety of different community arts and music settings, she spent three and a half years studying traditional music in Java and Sunda, Indonesia, and now spends a lot of time playing this music in groups based in London. Most of her community music work is now with early years and young children, though she has experience of working with various different groups of people and loves how music truly is a universal language which can connect us and remove barriers.
Jade is a Quaker and, alongside this spiritual path, has been practising meditation and mindfulness for a number of years. She is passionate about collaborating with fellow artists, musicians, educators and mindfulness practitioners and aspires to help others to fulfil their potential and improve their wellbeing through music.
