I joined “Mindful Music” in 2016 as the charity was being formed. I spent 32 years working in schools in Bradford, Leeds, Norfolk, Norwich and East Sussex. As teacher and later a headteacher, I tried to focus on a holistic approach to education valuing relationships as well as results. I now work part-time at Canterbury Christ Church as a lecturer in educational leadership teaching and conducting research and also part-time as an independent consultant. Both roles involve a good deal of international as well as UK-based work. I am also on the Board of “Human Scale Education”. All of these experiences have convinced me of the value of the “Mindful Music’s” approach to education.

Anna attended Durham University, studying Combined Arts: History of Art, Theology and Politics. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling (Kenya and Italy are amongst her favourite destinations); she sits on the board of the charity Human Scale Education; she enjoys running, yoga and cooking and eating healthily; she enjoys Arts and theatre productions as often as possible; she loves to read and spend time with her partner, family and friends.

Dominic Baker is a 2010 ambassador and the founding CEO of Future Frontiers. Dominic set up the charity with two other ambassadors after their experiences teaching in South London. There was a shared belief that all young people can be motivated by their aspirations if they can find career ideas that are highly personalised and understand the connections to academic success. The programme has demonstrated the ability to increase engagement at school, helping guide pupils to make positive choices about their future.

Martha founded Mindful Music while working as a primary school teacher in Medway. She had become aware of the emotional needs pupils were struggling with and the patterns of behaviour negatively affecting their wellbeing, and so started to research and pilot ways to support children in their development of self-control. This began the ongoing process of contextual observations with personal mindful practice. She has a masters in Transformational Leadership through Teach First and Canterbury Christ Church, and a degree in Music from Durham University.
