WINNER OF THE TEACH FIRST INNOVATION AWARD

Absolutely delighted to announce that Mindful Music is one of the five Teach First Innovation Award Winners.

After submitting an online application and video Teach First, Mindful Music was selected to pitch to the shortlisting and finalist panels. Pitches consisted of an eight minute presentation followed by up to 30 minutes of Q&A. The process was incredibly developmental. The judges asked relevant and thoughtful questions – some of which I’m still pondering now.

Winning the Teach First Innovation Award means I will be able to develop Mindful Music, full time with a salary from January 2016. Alongside this, I’ll be working alongside the inspiring partners and staff who make up the Teach First Innovation Hub and receiving support in all areas. A truly fantastic opportunity. More about the Teach First Innovation Award

Statement of Endorsement:

“The challenges underpinning educational inequality are complex and will always require creative and innovative solutions for how best these can be addressed. Mindful Music does just that, whilst building on research to provide children with the behavioural support that is sometimes needed. It will be fascinating to see how Innovation Award Winner Mindful Music develops over the next year, and I’m immensely proud of the fact that Teach First’s Innovation Unit will be at the heart of this for the 2015/16 partnership.”

Brett Wigdortz, Founder and CEO, Teach First – September 2015
