Hello to those who have found themselves on this blog.
My name is Martha Wright, I am a teacher and the Founding Director of Mindful Music.
I have recently trained as an Action Learning Set facilitator and am delighted to share an opportunity for teachers and musicians working in education to be part of an action learning set facilitated by me (scroll to the end for the how to apply).
What and why join an action learning set:
This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested in personal development within the society systems we exist in.
I have been fortunate enough to have been part of 2 facilitated groups for the last year through the School for Social Entrepreneurs which is what inspired me to train. I found sessions to be incredibly developmental, for me personally when dealing with challenges, but also as a teacher.
Sessions develop everyone's listening and questioning skills, they support a proactive and developmental approach to dealing with challenges, and the focus remains always on learning. I find it a cross between life coaching and a sharing circle. More about the what, why and benefits here. It's worth having a good browse of the website as it's well explained.
As I am still in the process of completing my training, I will be working on a voluntary basis and set members will be asked for a suggested donation of £2-£5 each session to cover costs (excess funds donated will go to a charity of our choice).
As a set member you would be required to commit to all 6 sessions planned in the series. In the first session, as a set, we will decide on dates from the provisional options available. And if necessary look at alternative dates. Then a commitment to attendance will be an important element of the process, as the group will become our strongest asset.
When, how and next steps
Sessions will take place 1-5pm on Sunday's in Streatham, London.
